The Google Art Project is Awesome!

An art teacher is always thinking of ways to share the world with students — from the most delicate textures to masterpieces made hundreds of years ago.  An exciting project developed by Google has made this a bit more possible.  The Google Art Project allows anyone to access museum collections and famous artworks without having to sell chocolate bars or host bake sales for an expensive field trip.  Don’t get me wrong — I would much prefer to visit these places in person!  However, one must keep the budget in mind.  At the very least, a virtual tour of well-known galleries exposes students to a world of art they may not have known even existed.
