It’s wonderful to be able to share student work online using digital portfolios, but nothing beats the experience of attending a great art exhibit. Last night was the opening reception for the annual High School Art Show at the Thunder Bay Art Gallery.

My students were thrilled to have the chance to exhibit their work at the Gallery, and although many weren’t able to attend (geographical challenges), they were happy to be part of this year’s event.
As an added bonus, I was happy to spend a few precious moments chatting with my former art teacher, Marian Stevenson. Not only has she instilled a love of art in hundreds of students (including myself), she works with the Gallery’s Board of Directors to provide opportunities for exhibitions such as the Student Show.

Congratulations to all of the students who were able to participate in this year’s event, and thank you to the Thunder Bay Art Gallery for providing such a wonderful opportunity for the youth in our region. Well done!
